Talk about being a slacker!

Basically I’m not so good at posting frequently which is probably why a journal has never worked out for me. Anyway lets catch up. After Pineview on the 10th the week was a fairly normal week until Wednesday (Cousin Bryan’s birthday) or Thursday when family started to gather for cousin Jarred’s wedding on Friday. It was up in Sundance and it was really nice and well done. Uncle Marv’s band, Joe Friday, played and there was dancing. It was a great event and we are all really happy and excited for Jarred. Ok so then Saturday rolls along… about 12 of us (mostly Cameron’s) including Candace went sky diving, it was absolutely amazing. I can’t even describe it, but what a rush! Even my great uncle Don at 66 years old, after he got a little mind control, jumped! WOW! what a day.

The following Monday, August 18th 2008, was my bro Treq’s 21st birthday. Among other things we went to dinner and bowling and had a blast. Treq is the coolest kid and the best brother anyone could have. Followed by another work week was this last weekend’s camping trip to Mirror Lake in the Uintas with Candace’s family and Sean. Basically Sean rocks my face and has always been a great friend. His birthday was just this last Sunday the 24th. Talk about an action packed couple of weeks huh? So is that a good enough excuse for not keeping up on my posts? Not a chance huh, okay fine at least I tried. Until next time I bid you all adieu!

Pineview August 7th – August 10th

Our Lake Powell trip got postponed but in the meantime we replaced it with an awesome trip to Pineview. Since it is a joke to get a spot at Anderson Cove, Candace left work Thursday around 4pm and sat up there all day reserving us a couple spots, how cool is that. Thanks Candace, your the BEST! by Friday night we had the Camerons & Pitchers chillin at the campground. It wasn’t perfect skiing water but it was a nice relaxed trip with plenty of sun, swimming and tubbing. I think about all of us got WORKED on the tube. Other than the retarded hosts at the campground the trip was way fun and a good get away for the weekend. Like seriously it is a novel in itself the storys of the MORON camp hosts, ask me about it sometime cause it’s too much to write about. The trip ended Sunday evening with dinner at Olive garden. Hooray for Boating!!!

My 25th Birthday

Woke up, got out of bed, dragged a comb across my head…. wait this sounds like a Beatles song not my birthday. Anyway it started similarly. Candace, Sean and dad all took the day off so they were with me the whole day which was awesome. Went to breakfast at Marketstreet Grill which needs no futher explaination cause it was incredible as usual. Treq also ended up taking off work by this time and met up with us. We then headed up to Park City to ride the alpine slide, coaster, and make our way through the human maze. Ok so I made the maze sound cooler than it really was, whatEV! We hung out of a bit then headed back downtown to drop off mom and the girls. The rest of us went to Momentum to do some rock climbing which was epic as normal. Then it was dinner at Teppanyaki, which also needs no futher explaination. After which we all went to my house for dessert with the inclusion of Grandma McPhee, Adam, Casie, Chad, Audrey, Colby, Carley, and Sarah. I got some pretty cool gifts to name a few: lawn mower, sweet watch, rad hat, dope headlamp, and the sumo tube. It was a good day, now hopefully my insurance really goes down or is that just a myth?

Moab July 24th, 2008 Trip

Over the 24th of July weekend we ran down to Moab with the priests. We left Wednesday afternoon. The first night we made camp up in the la sal mountains at Warner lake which me and my dad scoped out the week before. Actually it was a crapy little pond but the picture makes it look really good, at least the camp ground was nice and had a comfortable temperature of around 65 degrees where as the valley floor of Moab was over 100 degrees. Thursday we woke up and broke camp then did a death hike up to Gold Nob which is only 1.5 miles or something like that but is freaking steep and we all got worked. Great view at the top though. Once we got back down we ate lunch and headed back down to the valley. For the rest of the trip we camped up in the Juniper campground off of Sand Flats Road which is were me and dad stayed the week before. In fact we even got the same spot. Because it was so hot we went over to this cool little waterfall / watering hole by Potato Salad hill which was way refreshing. Tim Hagget was in charge of cooking meals and he did a good job, every meal was really good. Friday morning was the big day, we got up early and headed over to the guide shop to get fitted with all our gear which seemed like way too much cause its still over 100 degrees. Then we headed back into the La Sal mountains. After about a 20 min hike in with our gear on our backs we finally arrived at the waterfalls. We got suited up in our fleece, drysuits, helmets, harnesses etc. Mind you even though we are up in the mountains now we are still freaking burning up with all this gear. Once we got in the water it was nice. We repelled about 7 waterfalls the tallest being about 85ft. I can’t even describe how cool it was it was so amazing. Probably one of the coolest things I’ve done. Guess we will see how it compares to Skydiving on Aug 16th. After we got to the bottom of the canyon we had to hike back up to where we started, which was way worse than Gold Nob. This was a serious heart-pumper. At the top we ate lunch then hiked back out to the vehicles. The rest of the trip included shakes from Milts, Dinner at Pasta Jays, Moon Flower Crack climb at night, and another trip to the watering hole. We headed home Saturday mid-morning it was an awesome trip.

Then 5 mins after I got home I headed up to Pineview with Candaces family until the sun went down. If you think my weekend was good keep reading and read my 25th birthday post.
