Moab July 24th, 2008 Trip
Over the 24th of July weekend we ran down to Moab with the priests. We left Wednesday afternoon. The first night we made camp up in the la sal mountains at Warner lake which me and my dad scoped out the week before. Actually it was a crapy little pond but the picture makes it look really good, at least the camp ground was nice and had a comfortable temperature of around 65 degrees where as the valley floor of Moab was over 100 degrees. Thursday we woke up and broke camp then did a death hike up to Gold Nob which is only 1.5 miles or something like that but is freaking steep and we all got worked. Great view at the top though. Once we got back down we ate lunch and headed back down to the valley. For the rest of the trip we camped up in the Juniper campground off of Sand Flats Road which is were me and dad stayed the week before. In fact we even got the same spot. Because it was so hot we went over to this cool little waterfall / watering hole by Potato Salad hill which was way refreshing. Tim Hagget was in charge of cooking meals and he did a good job, every meal was really good. Friday morning was the big day, we got up early and headed over to the guide shop to get fitted with all our gear which seemed like way too much cause its still over 100 degrees. Then we headed back into the La Sal mountains. After about a 20 min hike in with our gear on our backs we finally arrived at the waterfalls. We got suited up in our fleece, drysuits, helmets, harnesses etc. Mind you even though we are up in the mountains now we are still freaking burning up with all this gear. Once we got in the water it was nice. We repelled about 7 waterfalls the tallest being about 85ft. I can’t even describe how cool it was it was so amazing. Probably one of the coolest things I’ve done. Guess we will see how it compares to Skydiving on Aug 16th. After we got to the bottom of the canyon we had to hike back up to where we started, which was way worse than Gold Nob. This was a serious heart-pumper. At the top we ate lunch then hiked back out to the vehicles. The rest of the trip included shakes from Milts, Dinner at Pasta Jays, Moon Flower Crack climb at night, and another trip to the watering hole. We headed home Saturday mid-morning it was an awesome trip.
Then 5 mins after I got home I headed up to Pineview with Candaces family until the sun went down. If you think my weekend was good keep reading and read my 25th birthday post.

Monday morning I pull up to work on my motorcycle and my dad was standing outside. He says something like ‘I’m thinking of heading to Moab for the day want to go?’ Heck ya I wanted to go, its MOAB! So we were on the road by 11am. Pulled into Moab around 2:30pm. We ate a early dinner at Pasta Jays(If you know me I don’t need to tell you what I ordered) then headed up into the La Sal mountains to check out the campground for next weeks canyoneering trip. The picture in the book is deceiving cause it looks like this huge lake but in reality its a mosquito infested pond. It was too early to pitch camp so we heading back into Moab and got some ice cream at Kalidescoop, double scoop waffle cone with Mocha Almond Fudge on the bottom and Pralines & Cream on the top. Hung out in town for a bit then found a nice little campground off sand flats road where we made berth for the night.
We backed up the FJ right next to the tent and hooked the laptop up to the inverter and watched Shooter in the tent while sitting on dope camp chairs. Got up early and headed home, cleaned up, ate lunch and back in the office by 1:00pm. It was a quick trip but fun none the less.

Howdy yall. My Independence Day weekend was spent up at Rockport reservoir with Candace and her family. It was a blast. On Friday we drove over to Oakley for the rodeo. I had never been to one before and I have to admit it was pretty cool. We all got cowboy’d up with hats and belt buckles it was fun.
Me and my cowgirl
Candace in her wranglers, boots, cute hat and blingin buckle
Ya I’m bad with my Ford belt buckle and AC/DC hat
At the end of the Rodeo they had fireworks then we headed back to Rockport. The rest of the weekend was pretty chill we just kicked back, relaxed and played some games. On our way back home on Sunday, Candace and I stopped in Park City and ate at Baja Cantina which was delectable! That night we headed up to Mom & Dad’s to watch a movie with Dad, Treq & Sarah. Kinda weird with just the 3 of them cause Mom and the girls left for Thailand for 3 weeks. Any way that was my weekend, it was a blast!

I always have wondered what I would look like with straight hair or ‘Treq hair’ so last night Candace gave it a try. I don’t think she liked it cause all she did was laugh at me but I felt like a totally different person and it was kinda cool. Unfortunately or fortunately, however you want to look at it, after sleeping my hair was plastered to my head and I didn’t know how to fix it so its now back to my normal curly hair. Anyway take a look and make your comments, criticisms or just laugh at me. Either way I just want the truth.

I finally got my front yard put in. The landscapers did a good job but it still looks like sod. I wish I got some before pics that showed all my weeds and swamp-like properties but here are some pics:
After weeds pulled, sprinklers laid, and leveled:
After top soil laid:
After sod laid:
I obviously still need some plants for the flower boxes but its coming along. Its been really hot so hopefully I can figure out the proper amount of water to give my grass so it doesn’t die. Any suggestions? I currently got the sprinklers set for everyday 4am & 7pm.

Dinner at Foxy’s was awesome as always. Can’t say I am a fan of dancing though, there was this old lady that asked me to dance and there was no way in hell I was going to do that. I suppose if I consumed alcohol it would be fun lol. Saturday morning we made our way back to Tortola and flew back to San Juan in our private turbo prop lol.
We were the only 6 passengers on the entire plane it was kinda weird. The flight attendants felt funny giving the safety demonstration so they just came up and basically said ‘It looks like you know how to buckle your seatbelt and if the plane goes down just follow our lead’. We met up with Jeff and 2 of his daughters in San Juan and ate dinner with them then got ice cream. Our flight wasn’t till 2pm Sunday so we just hung out at the beach. Definitely a long day of flying and as always its good to go but good to come home. It was an awesome trip just with the fam and we did some sweet sailing. So anyway I’m back and a getting into the swing of things. Oh I almost forgot check out the video I put together from the trip here. Enjoy!
No commentsBitter End / Cane Garden Bay
Yesterday we rented a Hobbie at Bitter End Yacht Club. And in the mist of sailing around Dad managed to run into 2 different boats which was pretty impressive lol. We mainly just hung out at that beach and did the Vita Course 2000 again. We ate dinner at Saba Rock again. This morning we set sail for the back side of Tortola to Cane Garden Bay. It was a pretty good sail down wind. My stomach got burn to crap, which is messed cause I was in the shade of the sail most of the time. Long story short tonight is going to suck if I sleep on my stomach too much. Ate at Quito Rhymer’s place tonight which is always cool. Had the incredible baby back ribs with the orange BBQ sauce that I have been talking about and craving for the last year, it met my expectations just fine. Quito played live music just like always, he is pretty good. Anyway thats it for tonight. Tomorrow we are going to Sandy Kay for some snorkling then to Foxy’s on Jost Van Dyke for dinner.

We woke up this morning and headed straight over to Saba Rock which is still in the North Sound so we just motored over cause it was just across the bay. Today was a pretty chill day. We spent most of the day on the beach at Bitter End Yacht Club snorkeling and what not. They have this blow up trampoline just off the shore that we were jumping off and having a good ol time. Problem was with all our burnt backs every movement just stung. We walked to the other side of Virgin Gorda, just around the corner, to the famous Vita Course 2000. We go over there every year cause its so funny but you get some exercise. You walk along this hard dirt path and there are signs along the way that show you what exercises to do and how many then you move to the next station. They have different things like stretches, monkey bars, pull up bars, uneven bars, etc., they even have weights. After that tremendous fun we just did some more swimmin, chillin, and hangin out. Ate dinner on Saba Rock then came back aboard the Black Pearl. We are staying here tomorrow night as well and we will probably rent a Hobbie sail boat in the morning. Well thats all for tonight. Goodnight!
No commentsVirgin Gorda, BVI
Today was a sailing day. We left Pirates Bite to begin our journey to the Baths on Virgin Gorda. It was a good sail, we hit a pretty good squall. The thing about squalls is they come quick but they also go quick. We arrived at the Baths which are all these big granite rocks scattered across the coastline that you can crawl all through, fun stuff. Then we hiked the trail that leads to the top of the island where there is a restaurant with a fresh water pool and had a great lunch. Setting sail, we traveled northward to the North Sounds which is still a part of Virgin Gorda. We made port at Leverick Bay which we have never stayed at before today. We ate pizza on the island and are now chillin back on the Black Pearl where I am writing this post. Arrrr maties to Bitter End Yacht club we be! (tomorrow that is). Until then I be gettin some shut-eye…
No commentsNorman Island BVI
After the long flights and night in Puerto Rico we set sail on the Black Pearl Saturday (May 31st 2008) from Road Town, Tortola. We sailed to Norman Island and made anchorage at Pirates Bite for the night. I bought this dope hat at the little shop then we ate dinner there on the island.
We like Norman Island so much we decided to stay another night. Sunday we played in the water and made our way over to the Caves and did some snorkeling. We had hot dogs on the boat that night. I fell asleep to live music coming from the island while chillin on my hammock. Unfortunately the hammock trashed my back and it was super windy so I moved inside about 2:30am and not a minute too soon. 10 minutes later a squall came through and dumped buckets. No one seemed to sleep too well Sunday night, except maybe Treq and Takira who were out cold, the of us were up till 3am figuring out a comfortable way to sleep. Finally getting cooled off the rest of the night was pleasant. Stay tune for more.
